Aagam Kaur

Aagam Kaur is an alumni of RMLNLU, 2013 batch enrolled with the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh. Soon after graduation she was engaged at the Chambers of Ms. Manali Singhal wherein primarily was involved in the trial of the 2G Spectrum Case.

Ms. Kaur was also retained as an Associate Attorney with AZB & Partners, IPR Team. She then expanded her scope of work and moved to the Hon’ble Supreme Court where she provided her assistance to the Standing Counsel of Gujarat, Ms. Hemantika Wahi.

Ms. Kaur joined the Enforcement Directorate as a Legal Consultant in February, 2017 and served there for 3 years where she argued several cases before the Appellate Tribunal for PMLA and FEMA.

• Regularly appeared before Appellate Tribunal for Foreign Exchange and independently argued several matters pertaining to Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1973 and Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999.
• Assisted and briefed Special Counsels in matters pertaining to Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).
• Appointed as a Local Commissioner on few occasions by the Appellate Tribunal in PMLA matters.
• Advisory work for Enforcement Directorate in matters pertaining to PMLA and FEMA cases.
• Assisted in drafting amendments/proposals to Department of Revenue and Ministry of Finance in respect of PMLA and FEMA.
• Assisted in drafting of the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act,2018.
• Reviewed orders of Adjudicating Authority and Appellate Tribunal under FEMA and PMLA and advised Directorate pertaining the same.
• Legally vetted draft Provisional Attachment Orders under PMLA.
• Legally vetted draft Letter of Request and Extradition requests sent to Foreign Countries.
• After Joining APS Law Chambers, White Collar Defence practice team in 2020, advised Clients pertaining to strategy regarding dealing in PMLA & FEMA matters.
• Handling drafting, filing and arguments before Adjudicating Authority, PMLA & FEMA Tribunal & various High Courts in the Country.
